According to the Los Angeles Times, FarmVille, which was once the most popular game on Facebook, is now ranked third, after The Sims Social. Zynga’s CityVille is currently the No. 1 game and words with friends tied for third.

The subject of our analysis, a strapping young college student, downloaded Farmville with the most innocent of intentions, unaware that this totally free download would spiral into a morbid addiction on the brink of complete-blown mental insanity. As he spirals down this terrible path, he brings his pals down with him. How far will this go? To what end will the human mind permit itself to be pushed? Query by Bob Altis: Does “Farmville” have any correlation to the “Chicken Cruelty” issue in 2010 film The Social Network?
I watched the film The Social Network final evening for the first time (the 2010 film essentially telling the story of how Facebook came to be) and in the movie the major character’s (Mark Zuckerburg) enterprise partner had an issue of becoming accused of animal cruelty for some school ritual of possessing to carry a chicken close to campus and he fed it chicken from the cafeteria, does this have something to do with the creation of “farmville” on facebook, ive never played it but know its truly well-liked. Any thoughts/opinions/sound feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!
Nunyo – you need to get fuck3d. It was a valid query, I am not going to just, not ask it. If I by no means asked questions that were on my thoughts then how would I ever find out something. Stupid tw4t but to absolutely everyone else thank you for your imput!
Farmville is a part of your life now and you’re never going to get away from it. As long as there are aunts and people who you sort of remember from high school in the world, there will always be Farmville. The last thing you hear before you die is probably going to be that your cousin Marvin’s sheep have gotten loose from their pen and he needs your help finding them. And you know what happens once something gets so culturally pervasive that everybody knows about it: Hollywood turns it into a movie. According to an interview that appeared on IGN, the Farmville film is in the works.
Yes you read that right, The Farmville Film is in the works!!!
The bombshell news dropped in a video game interview of all places. When sometimes screenwriters Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohenwere talking about their work on the upcoming game “Spyro’s Adventures,” they let the news slip. When asked if they had
Farmville Movie in the works!
any film projects in the works, one of the duo responded, ” … yes, we will continue writing movies. We are also working on several new and very exciting opportunities. We’re in conversations with Zynga to do something with one of their brands. Can’t really say too much on that front yet, but ‘Old MacDonald’ didn’t have a factory, if you get our drift.” Okay, that quote is vague enough that they might not be talking about working on an actual Farmville movie, but let’s be realistic here; they’re probably talking about working on a Farmville movie. You know Sokolow and Cohen from their working together on a number of film projects, most notably Pixar’s beloved Toy Story, so they’re a duo you probably feel a lot of good will toward. For the moment.
What would Farmville look like as a film? Your guess is as good as mine, but I hope they write a script heavily influenced by The Grapes of Wrath; a bleak story about a desolate farmer going door to door begging for help to keep his farm running before the bank comes in and buys all of his land. Maybe once we see the story from the other side of the fence, we’ll no longer mind being constantly bothered by people trying to run a farm with very limited resources. Those poor, desperate dreamers.
